Working with ProVideoPlayer
Playing Media Clips | |
![]() |
Media clips can be triggered to play by clicking on the thumbnail of the clip in the Thumbnail View, or by clicking on the play button in the List View. Once a clip has been triggered, it will transition according to the duration setting and blend onto the screen. Each clip triggered will take on the attributes set by the global settings. This includes playrate and color adjustments. |
Manual Blend Mode | |
![]() |
Manual mode allows you to control the transition between media clips. Clicking the Manual Mode button will open two smaller preview panes and the virtual T-bar (slider) next to the main preview display. Use the T-bar to execute the transition between two clips. A red highlight appears around the live program (or current) media clip and a yellow highlight appears around the preview (or next) media clip. Those highlights will also appear over their respective thumbnails. Click on the Goto Black button to clear the preview clip (yellow highlight) then use the T-bar to manually fade to black. |
Transition Controls | |
![]() |
Transition Duration sets the time it takes (in seconds) to transition from one media clip to the next. The duration setting can also be entered directly into the text field under the duration slider. Click on the Goto Black button to fade the current playing clip to black. The duration setting will determine the transition time for the fade. The Transition button, Force Loop and Re-start on Blend setting are options only available in Manual mode. The transition button will trigger the blend between your two clips setting the T-Bar in motion timed to the duration setting. Force Loop, when checked, sets the movie clips you have running in the viewer windows to loop at the end of the timeline regardless of the individual preference settings. Re-start on Blend, when checked in Manual mode, will start the media clip from the beginning when the transition (blend) begins. |
Global Adjustments | |
![]() |
There are four color adjustment settings: Hue, Saturation, Brightness, and Contrast. These controls will effect all the media clips that appear on screen. There are reset buttons below each control. The button below the Hue reset has two reset functions. Clicking on the button will reset all color controls to their default setting but will NOT affect the current playing media clips. Command-Clicking will reset all color controls AND affect the current playing media clips. Hold down the Command-key while scrolling the Hue setting to constrain the increments of adjustment. |
Clip Preferences and Settings | |
![]() |
Each media clip contains its own attribute values for color adjustments, playback rate, start and stop points and playback mode. Control- or right-click a clip in either Thumbnail or List view to open the pop-up menu for each media clip.
Select Open Prefences to open up the preference panel for the selected media clip. Audio files will not have color corrections and Image files will not have playback rates; however, all have a few attributes in common. These adjustments will effect only the individual clip. Global adjustments will then be additive which means any preference setting you make will be in addition to any global changes. |
