Networking
ProVideoPlayer offers the unique ability to synchronize video playback across multiple machines. By connecting multiple ProVideoPlayer machines on your network, one Master PVP machine can control multiple Slave machines. Plugging each computer into its own projector creates a highly impactful dynamic staging experience.

Network mode allows you to connect multiple machines together running ProVideoPlayer. ProVideoPlayer can detect all ProVideoPlayer machines on the local network. One machine will need to be designated as the Master Controller. This machine will trigger commands in tandem to all connected Slave Nodes. Each Slave Node must have their respective libraries and playlists pre-configured. To make proper use of networking, you should set up multiple machines independently by importing media files and creating Playlists on each machine. Then, in place of many Users controlling each machine, network them together and have one machine control all of them. Note - Each machine will be required to have a valid registration and unlock code. |
Master/Slave Mode | |

Choose Network > Networking Settings (Command-.) to set up Network Mode. Select either Master or Slave from the Program Network Status pull down menu. All Slave Nodes will notify the Master Controller of their presence and will appear in the Master display table. To enable control of a Slave Node by a Master Controller, click on the enable checkbox. A connection will be indicated in the status column of the display table. From there, use the Master Controller to trigger action events to the Slave Nodes. Clip selection across slave nodes is handled on an offset basis. This means that when the third clip of the second playlist is selected on the Master node, the corresponding clips will be selected on the Slave nodes. All global clip playback controls work across the slave nodes, but the clip preferences will not work across Slave nodes. Note - Certain functions become disabled to the user interface while in Slave Mode. This ensures the Master will have full control. |
Grid Mapping | |

Grid mapping allows you to setup a grid coordinate system by entering row and column numbers. Selecting a quadrant in the grid will determine which region of the original media will be displayed. This will allow you to set up multiple machines with the same Library and Playlist, using the same media files. You can then set different grid mapping quadrants for each machine to effectively play one large signal across multiple screens. |
